GRADUATION, June 26, 6:30 at the OCUMC shelter house.
For children going to kindergarten, there will be an outdoor graduation celebration. Each child's family can bring up to 6 people. Please bring your own blanket or yard chairs; your preschooler should remain with your family until called. Please watch Facebook or Text Messaging for weather updates, or changes due to health conditions.
A message for our families enrolled for our 2020-21 preschool year:
We are working hard to prepare for our planned August opening, making a few changes, and creating alternate plans in case they are needed. By mid-July, we will be reaching out to each of our classes with the details for the new preschool year.
Also, we are excited that we continue to receive calls to enroll. Though most classes have a wait list, we are happy to talk with you.
Welcome to Old Capitol Preschool
Old Capitol Preschool is an outreach ministry of Old Capitol United Methodist Church in Corydon, Indiana.
We provide a high quality early childhood program in a safe and nurturing setting.
Our preschool is centered on a play-based learning environment that is fun and educationally challenging. Old Capitol Preschool works to prepare all of its students for a smooth transition from preschool to kindergarten.
Old Capitol Preschool is the only local preschool that is nationally accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). NAYEC has high standards for teachers, health and safety, and learning.
In addition, we are also a Registered Ministry under State guidelines, and we participate in the Paths to Quality, meeting the highest State standards as a Level 4 provider.
We have a wonderful and experienced staff who provide an exciting educational experience for preschool-aged children. The staff works with family members to provide the best possible start for each child.
Old Capitol Preschool incorporates Christian principles into our classes. As part of our curriculum, we have Chapel time once a week. We use prayer, Bible verses, and religious music as part of our educational experience.
We welcome and encourage parents and children to make an appointment to visit us and observe our classes and facilities during school hours.
